Deacon Louis F. Howe, Sr.

Deacon Howe was ordained in 1994 by His Eminence, Edward Cardinal Egan.  His last parochial assignment was Saint Aloysius Parish in New Canaan. 

Deacon Howe’s liturgical duties as the Deacon at Mass include proclaiming the Gospel and preaching God’s Word.  He is also able to administer the Sacrament of Baptism and serve as the duly authorized sacred minister for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. 

Deacon Howe was elected to the Diaconal Council in January 2014, for a three-year term.  He also servces a the Chairperson for the Diaconal Council.

In October 2014 Deacon Lou was appointed by Bishop Caggiano to be an Assistant Master of Ceremonies for the next three years.

Deacon Donald J. Naiman, Ed.D.

Deacon Donald Naiman was ordained by Cardinal Egan as permanent deacon in June, 1996.  He graduated from Seton Hall University with a BA in Psychology. After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, he continued his graduate education at Penn State University earning a MS in Educational Psychology and a DEd in School Psychology.  He did post-doctoral studies in educational administration at Millersville and Temple Universities.

Deacon Don was assigned by Msgr. Doyle to St. Joseph’s Parish in 2012.  Bishop Caggiano appointed him the Chairman of the Permanent Diaconate Admissions Committee and the Deacon Representative for our Deanery.  Don serves on the faculty of the Permanent Diaconate Program as a homiletics instructor.  Deacon Don completed his hospital interfaith chaplain studies at Bridgeport, Greenwich and Norwalk Hospitals.  He is a chaplain at Danbury Hospital.  At St. Joseph’s, Deacon Don coordinates the Bereavement Ministry and does Pre-Baptism Classes for parents.
